Japan to take some tuna fishing boats out of service: government
TOKYO (AFP) - Japan will take out of service up to 20 percent of its tuna fishing boats after tougher catch quotas were imposed on the land of sushi, the government said Friday.

Economy puts damper on New Year's Eve celebrations
NEW YORK - Americans had no problem saying goodbye to 2008 Wednesday, but the nation's economic troubles made many of them less interested in giving it an expensive send-off. Searchers find large bones near Fossett crash site
MADERA, Calif. - Searchers have found what appear to be two large human bones near the crash site of Steve Fossett's plane in California's Sierra Nevada, along with the adventurer's tennis shoes and driver's license, authorities said Thursday.
